This port so far sucks....

Thu, Aug 19 2010 by Charlene

I went for my third of eight treatments yesterday. Two different nurses and still neither one of them were able to access my damn port - stabbed me three times..... THEN decided to look at the X-Ray to see where it was .... seriously?!?!? Why the hell did you not look at the X-Ray BEFORE you started stabbing me.... unbelieveable. I ended up getting the treatment via I.V. again, then they sent me for another X-Ray (and another co-pay) to make sure they had a good picture of it, then I went over to the surgeons office to have them take a look at it. The P.A. at the surgeons office said everthing looked normal but that I still have a lot of swelling making it harder to find, they told me to switch from ice packs to heat packs to reduce the edema? Sure I'll try anyting once.... All this post chemo running around delayed my nap!!! Got home at 4:00pm and slept until 7:00pm - nice.. . Then Steve made me a yummy dinner - he's the best!!!!

I have to start those stupid shots again tomorrow - I HATE THEM!!!!!! Six friggin' days of those damn things... GRRRRR

Good news..... they have cut my anti-nausea meds in half this go around which should help with the constipation YAY (as long as the nausea stays away). AND they measured my tumor and it appears to be shrinking!!!! When I started it was 3.2 and now it is 2.0 !!! At least we know all this crap is working!

To be continued....
