HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Wed, Aug 26 2009 by Brenda

October 31, 2007 I went in for my mastectomy six months pregnant and scared.  I was in surgery for three hours and i felt the biggest kick ever!! my baby woke me up afterwards.  The nurse let me know that she had done great her heart rate never dropped and she was perfect.  I was so happy!!  I needed to go to the bathroom so bad, and the nurse said i will get a pan, well guess what i wanted a toilet after yelling and fighting the nurse left to get the doctor, and while she was gone i got up and went to the bathroom. (I know it was dangerous, but really a pan I DONT THINK SO).

They took me to my room upstairs where i was greated by my family.  I was in so much pain i could not bear it, but i knew i had to.  I was told i could take a pain killer, but i did not want my baby all messed up so i tok the pain.  For several days i was being taught how to use my arm again i felt like a child, but it had to be done.

I finally went home and rested my wonderful husband took great care of me.  Even though i worked to i am one of those people that hate to not do nothing so i took care of my two children.

My doctor called later that month to let me know that i had to meet with a hematologist.  That is the person that will determine what kind of chemo i needed and how often..  But first the results from my mastectomy you won't beleive this.

My tumor was 6 cm, and all the cancer had spread to 17 of my lymphnodes making my cancer stage 3C almost 4.  24 lymphnodes were removed which now i have no drainage system in my left arm.  IT SUCKS!!!

At least im here still  i will lget back to the rest of my story, but my hands hurt!!
